Trades - Apprenticeship in Electrician, Construction Maintenance

The Electrician, Construction and Maintenance apprenticeship at Centennial College trains registered apprentices in trade 309A, covering the circuitry and wiring skills required to become a licensed electrician. The program combines classroom instruction with employer-sponsored on-the-job training across four levels, basic, intermediate, advanced, and journeyman, over four years. On completion of all four in-school levels and the required on-the-job training hours, graduates are eligible to write the Certificate of Qualification exam; passing the exam qualifies them for a Certificate of Apprenticeship from the Ministry of Labour, Immigration, Training and Skills Development. Admission is arranged through employer sponsorship and Ministry registration rather than direct application to the College: applicants must already be employed as an apprentice electrician before enrolling in the in-school training levels.
