Trades - Apprenticeship in Automotive Service Technician General Motors of Canada ASEP

The Automotive Service Technician General Motors of Canada ASEP (MAP 32) program is a modified apprenticeship delivered at Centennial College's Ashtonbee Campus in partnership with General Motors of Canada. Students alternate between 32 weeks of in-class instruction and 32 weeks of on-the-job training at a GM dealership, for 64 weeks in total. Five required courses cover GM vehicle systems, electrical and electronics, fuel systems, gear trains, and suspension, steering, and brake systems, with an emphasis on diagnosis and repair following GM-recommended service procedures. On successful completion, graduates receive an Ontario College Certificate in Motive Power Fundamentals and complete Automotive Service Technician Level 1 apprenticeship training. Applicants must secure employment with a General Motors of Canada dealership and register as a MAP apprentice with Skilled Trades Ontario before enrolling; the program does not accept direct applications from the general public.
