The Automotive Service Technician Pre-Apprenticeship program at Centennial College is a tuition-free, government-funded pathway delivered on campus at the Ashtonbee Campus over 33 weeks. The program runs in three phases: an eight-week introductory skills phase covering job readiness and foundational skills, a thirteen-week technical skills phase introducing Automotive Service Technician Level 1 apprenticeship topics, and a twelve-week paid work placement with an automotive shop. Graduates complete Automotive Service Technician Level 1 apprenticeship training and gain hands-on industry experience through the work placement. The program is intended for applicants who are not yet registered apprentices and provides a route into the trade through direct application to the College, followed by English and math assessments and an admission interview.
