Overview

The Carpentry Techniques Co-op diploma prepares students to build and renovate residential and commercial wood-frame structures. Coursework covers site layout, framing, structural systems, interior and exterior finishing, and reading construction plans, along with the codes and safety practices used on a job site. Students progress from foundational carpentry skills to managing a construction project from initial layout through to completion. The 77-week program includes a cooperative work term that places students with an employer to apply classroom learning on active job sites. It is offered at the Dieppe campus of Collège communautaire du Nouveau-Brunswick. Graduates who meet all program requirements receive a diploma in Carpentry Techniques (Co-op) and are prepared for entry-level roles in residential and commercial construction, with the co-op placement providing direct industry experience before graduation.
