Diploma in Human Sciences – Education

This pre-university Human Sciences profile prepares students for university programmes in education and related fields, and is the only education-focused profile in Quebec that includes practicum placements. The curriculum combines the general Human Sciences core with four courses specific to teaching, alongside multiple field placements: observation in specialized schools, teaching practicums at the primary or secondary level, and tutoring work with struggling students. Students study child and adolescent development and course design, delivery, and evaluation. The regular pathway is completed in two years (four sessions); extended, Sport-Études, and Arts-Études pathways run three years. Admission requires meeting the general college admission conditions and Secondary V CST or 416 mathematics. Graduates typically continue into university programmes such as Teaching, Physical Education Teaching, Special Education, Kinesiology, or Sociology. The credential is a Diplôme d'études collégiales (DEC) issued by Collège Laflèche.
