X-Ray Skills for Medical Laboratory Technologists is a four-semester post-diploma credential at College of the North Atlantic, delivered in blended format (online coursework with on-campus labs and clinical placements) at the Prince Philip Drive campus through the School of Health Sciences. The program extends the practice of certified Medical Laboratory Technologists into diagnostic radiography, combining theoretical instruction with clinical exposure and simulation so graduates can operate radiation-emitting equipment to produce images of the skeletal, digestive, respiratory and urinary systems. Admission requires graduation from an accredited Medical Laboratory Technology program, current MLT certification and membership with the Canadian Society for Medical Laboratory Science, and current employment at a Newfoundland and Labrador regional health authority as an MLT with employer sponsorship. A clear Certificate of Conduct, including a criminal record check and vulnerable sector check, is required for clinical placements.
