Overview
College of the Rockies offers all four levels of the Plumber apprenticeship, a sponsored programme combining on-the-job work-based training with classroom theory, demonstrations and hands-on practice in a plumbing lab and shop. Level 1 covers piping preparation and pipe, valve and fitting installation, soldering and welding; Level 2 covers drainage systems, fixtures, hydronic heating and medical gas systems; Level 3 covers water supply, sewers, cross-connection devices and gas appliances; and Level 4 covers further trade activities, fixtures, drain-waste-vent systems, water treatment and gas systems. Entry to Level 2 and beyond requires completion of the previous level or a foundation programme, and all levels require employer sponsorship and SkilledTradesBC registration. Completion leads to Red Seal certification, recognised across Canada. The programme suits people who are physically fit, have good manual dexterity and balance, and are comfortable working at heights. Graduates find a wide variety of job opportunities in construction, plumbing contracting, industrial maintenance, municipalities and disaster restoration. It is intended for registered apprentices continuing sponsored training rather than new entrants to the trade.

Admission Requirements: Entry to Plumber: Apprenticeship at College of the Rockies runs through the SkilledTradesBC apprenticeship system: Level 1 requires an employer sponsor; Level 2 requires successful completion of a Foundation or Apprenticeship Level 1 program plus an employer sponsor; Level 3 requires successful completion of Apprenticeship Level 2 plus an employer sponsor; and Level 4 requires successful completion of Level 3 plus an employer sponsor. The program page does not publish its own academic prerequisite courses, grades or admission average, referring applicants instead to the level-by-level outlines in the college's academic calendar, which are not reproduced on the program page itself. Because the program page states no separate English-language score, College of the Rockies' general admission standard applies: TOEFL iBT overall 80, IELTS Academic overall 6.0 (no band below 6.0), CAEL-CE overall 60 (no sub-score below 60), or PTE Academic overall 56, or an equivalent English 12 completion combined with sufficient English-medium schooling. Application Deadline:Domestic and international applicants to College of the Rockies both apply through EducationPlannerBC. For the 2027-28 academic year the general application window opens 1 November 2026, and applications received by 28 February 2027 get priority processing for Fall 2027 entry; admission is otherwise rolling with no fixed closing date. International applicants get a decision about two weeks after a complete application, with no separate published international deadline. The Bachelor of Science in Nursing is competitive-entry: its window runs 1 November 2026 to 15 February 2027, with final transcripts due 28 February 2027 for Fall 2027 admission. These are institution-wide dates; this programme publishes no deadline of its own.
