Overview

This Bachelor of Fine Arts Major in Contemporary Dance, offered through Concordia's Department of Contemporary Dance, encourages students to discover and define their own aesthetic, methods and creative processes within an inclusive and collaborative learning environment. The curriculum emphasizes choreography within a social context and is taught by artist-researchers engaging critical and multidisciplinary approaches to contemporary choreographic practice. Full-time study takes a minimum of three to four years (90-120 credits), with classes held on Concordia's Sir George Williams campus. The Major requires 60 credits. Admission is Fall-only and includes a pre-audition questionnaire, interview and audition.

Requirements

Admission Requirements: Direct entry from Quebec CEGEP requires a completed DEC; Ontario and other Canadian high-school applicants need a C+ overall average; IB Diploma applicants need 26 points overall. Applicants must apply online, complete a pre-audition questionnaire, attend an interview, and complete a live audition held in Montreal in spring (video submissions accepted for candidates unable to attend). The audition deadline is March 1. Admission is available for the Fall term only.
