Overview
The Certificat en langue francaise (Etudes francaises) welcomes students at all levels, from beginners to francophones, who progress through language courses at their own pace, with further options to pursue linguistics, literature or translation. The 30-credit certificate is offered within the Etudes francaises program and is delivered on campus at the Sir George Williams campus, normally completed in one year of full-time study; the language is also available as a 45-credit major, a 60-credit specialization, and as 24-credit minors in language, linguistics or literature within the BA. Students are admitted for the Fall or Winter term, with application deadlines of March 1 for Fall and November 1 for Winter; international applicants are advised to apply by February 1 for Fall and August 1 for Winter to allow time for immigration processing.
