The Economics MA develops advanced theoretical and mathematical foundations in economic theory and econometrics, with emphasis on quantitative research methods. Students undertake coursework and complete a thesis or major research paper examining abstract and empirical economic questions, preparing graduates for employment in analysis-focused roles or for doctoral study in economics. The program totals 45 credits, normally completed over two years of full-time study, and includes an optional co-op work-term available after the first semester. Admission requires an honours degree in economics or equivalent from a recognized university, with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.00. Applicants whose first language is not English must demonstrate sufficient English proficiency for graduate study. The program admits students in the Fall and Winter terms at Concordia University's Sir George Williams campus.
