Overview
The Bachelor of Early Learning Program Development (Honours) is a four-year paid co-op degree at the Kitchener-Doon campus preparing students to develop early learning programs and support children, youth and families. The program forms reflective professionals with strong critical thinking skills for inter-professional teamwork. Program design, implementation and evaluation are taught within frameworks of research-informed practice, population focus and social inclusion, with authentic learning connecting theory to practice.

Admission Requirements: Domestic entry: an OSSD or equivalent, or being 19 or older, plus six Grade 12 U or M courses averaging at least 65%, one of which must be Grade 12 English (ENG4U) or Preparatory Communications for Degrees (COMM0350) at 70% or better; the college notes competition often raises the effective cut-off, and strongly recommends that one of the six be a mathematics course. Work-integrated learning documents are due at the start of the program: an immunisation record covering MMR and Tdap, 1-step TB testing completed within a year of the start date, Standard First Aid and CPR at Level C, and a vulnerable sector police check clear of unpardoned offences, with COVID-19 and seasonal flu vaccination recommended from October to March. Co-op eligibility inside the degree needs a session weighted average of at least 65% in the qualifying term two semesters before a work term, with no more than two failures or withdrawals in that term. International applicants: Conestoga lists this program at the higher degree-level English minimums - IELTS Academic 6.5 with no band below 6.0, TOEFL iBT 88 with no skill below 22, PTE Academic 58, or Duolingo 120. Anyone holding transcripts from outside Canada, Canadian citizens and permanent residents included, needs a course-by-course credential evaluation from a service such as ICAS or WES, and must show English proficiency if the language of instruction was not English.

Application Deadline:Domestic applicants apply through ontariocolleges.ca (college code CONS): for the Fall 2027 intake the online application opens 26 September 2026, the equal consideration date is 1 February 2027, offers may be issued from 1 November 2026, and accepted offers must be confirmed by 1 May 2027; most oversubscribed programs stop accepting applications after 1 February 2027, though many programs remain open afterward. Conestoga does not publish a separate equal-consideration date for its January intake. International applicants apply directly to Conestoga and are assessed on a rolling, first-come, first-served basis until each program fills; no fixed international closing date is published. These are institution-wide dates; this programme publishes no deadline of its own.
