Overview
Experiential learning, which is central to Conestoga's program, is integrated throughout to support student application of knowledge, skills and judgment. Students have the opportunity to study at multiple locations including the Living Classroom and ONSITEs (Ontario Sites for Integrated Teaching and Experiential learning). The Living Classroom is an innovative curriculum delivery model, combining classroom and real-life experiences for students to build increased knowledge and confidence working with older clients and care teams obtained by immediate integration of learning in long-term care and retirement living environments.
Requirements
Admission Requirements: Direct entry requires an Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD), or equivalent, or mature student status for applicants 19 years of age or older, with Grade 12 compulsory English at the C or U level, or Conestoga's Preparatory Communications (COMM1251). Applicants whose prior instruction was not in English must demonstrate proficiency per Conestoga's published requirements, which for certificate programs is IELTS Academic 6.0 with no band below 5.5, TOEFL iBT 80 with no skill below 20, PTE Academic 53, or Duolingo 110; a sound English background is considered during admissions selection. Before clinical placement, students need a complete immunization record (MMR, Tdap, varicella, hepatitis B), current TB testing, seasonal flu and COVID-19 vaccination as required, respiratory fit testing, Intermediate (Standard) First Aid with CPR/AED Level C or BLS, and a clear Vulnerable Sector Check completed in Canada; access to a vehicle may be required for placements.

Application Deadline:Domestic applicants apply through ontariocolleges.ca (college code CONS): for the Fall 2027 intake the online application opens 26 September 2026, the equal consideration date is 1 February 2027, offers may be issued from 1 November 2026, and accepted offers must be confirmed by 1 May 2027; most oversubscribed programs stop accepting applications after 1 February 2027, though many programs remain open afterward. Conestoga does not publish a separate equal-consideration date for its January intake. International applicants apply directly to Conestoga and are assessed on a rolling, first-come, first-served basis until each program fills; no fixed international closing date is published. These are institution-wide dates; this programme publishes no deadline of its own.
