Overview
Pre-Health Sciences Pathway to Advanced Diplomas and Degrees is a two-term Ontario College Certificate delivered in person at Conestoga's Kitchener - Doon campus, built as a stepping stone into competitive health programs. Students explore key topics in biology, chemistry and health sciences while developing the study skills and confidence needed for college-level success. Completing the pathway strengthens eligibility for advanced-diploma and degree programs in the health sciences, toward careers in public health, clinical care or medical research.
Requirements
Admission Requirements: Direct entry requires an Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or equivalent, or mature student status at 19 or older. Conestoga requires Grade 12 compulsory English at the C level (minimum 65%) or U level (minimum 55%), or equivalent, which can also be met through the college's Preparatory Communications course (COMM1251). No further Grade 12 subjects are listed as prerequisites for this pathway certificate. International transcripts require a course-by-course credential evaluation through a provider such as ICAS or WES. Applicants whose prior instruction was not in English must meet Conestoga's institution-wide English language requirement: IELTS Academic overall 6.0 (no band below 5.5), TOEFL iBT 80 (no skill below 20), PTE Academic 53, CAEL 70 (minimum 60 writing, no sub-score below 30), or Duolingo 110. The college notes that a sound English background is important to success and is considered during admission selection.
