Overview
Educational Support - Fast Track is a condensed one-year (two-term) Ontario College Diploma delivered in hybrid format at Conestoga's Kitchener - Doon campus, with a May intake. The program prepares graduates to work with learners of all ages with exceptionalities, developing educational interventions and techniques through in-class projects and work-integrated learning experiences. It serves applicants eligible for advanced standing, and graduates can pursue Conestoga's Bachelor of Early Learning Program Development (Honours) through advanced standing.
Requirements
Admission Requirements: Admission is based on holding a certificate, diploma, advanced diploma or degree in health sciences, social sciences, education, or a related discipline; final acceptance follows a review of the applicant's post-secondary background and supporting documentation rather than a fixed grade cut-off. Applicants whose transcripts come from institutions where English was not the language of instruction must demonstrate proficiency; the programme page states that a sound English background is considered during selection but sets no score table of its own, so Conestoga's institution-wide scale applies: IELTS Academic overall 6.0 (no band under 5.5), TOEFL iBT 80 (no skill under 20), PTE Academic 53, CAEL 70 (writing at least 60), or Duolingo English Test 110. Canadian citizens and permanent residents with foreign transcripts require a course-by-course credential evaluation through ICAS or WES. Before the programme starts, students must provide a Vulnerable Sector Screening police check, a current one-step TB test within one year, and Standard First Aid with CPR Level C, with COVID-19 and seasonal flu vaccination recommended.
