Overview
Electro Mechanical and Automation Maintenance (Optional Co-op) is a two-year Ontario College Diploma delivered in hybrid format at Conestoga's Cambridge - Reuter Drive campus. The program combines electrical and mechanical training for industrial maintenance roles in advanced manufacturing, with hands-on experience in automated systems, industrial robotics and system integration plus coverage of Industry 4.0, the Industrial Internet of Things, mobile robotics and big data. The curriculum covers all learning outcomes for Levels 1 and 2 of the Electrician and Millwright apprenticeship programs.

Admission Requirements: Direct entry requires an Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD), or equivalent, or applicant age 19 or older under mature-student status, Grade 12 compulsory English at C or U or equivalent (or Conestoga's Preparatory Communications COMM1251), and Grade 12 Mathematics at C (60%) or U (50%), or equivalent, or Preparatory Mathematics for Trades MATH1420 (60%). Admission uses a computed academic-strength score with a minimum of 60% considered, plus bonus marks for Advanced-level, OAC, U, U/C or post-secondary courses; the page adds that a sound mathematics and English background is important, requiring at least 60% in applied mathematics. Applicants whose transcripts were not issued in English must demonstrate proficiency; the programme page defers to Conestoga's institution-wide scale of IELTS Academic overall 6.0 (no band under 5.5), TOEFL iBT 80 (no skill under 20), PTE Academic 53, CAEL 70 (writing at least 60), or Duolingo English Test 110. Students must supply CSA-approved safety footwear, safety glasses and specified hand tools, and continuing into the co-op stream needs a minimum 70% session-weighted average with no failed or dropped Level 1 courses.

Application Deadline:Domestic applicants apply through ontariocolleges.ca (college code CONS): for the Fall 2027 intake the online application opens 26 September 2026, the equal consideration date is 1 February 2027, offers may be issued from 1 November 2026, and accepted offers must be confirmed by 1 May 2027; most oversubscribed programs stop accepting applications after 1 February 2027, though many programs remain open afterward. Conestoga does not publish a separate equal-consideration date for its January intake. International applicants apply directly to Conestoga and are assessed on a rolling, first-come, first-served basis until each program fills; no fixed international closing date is published. These are institution-wide dates; this programme publishes no deadline of its own.
