Overview
The program includes Level 1 Electrical Apprenticeship in-school training (Attestation), giving you a head start toward becoming a certified journeyperson. It also includes academic upgrading, opening doors to further education at Conestoga College. You could choose to apply to any School of Trades program or transition directly into term 2 of the Electrical Engineering Technician - Industrial diploma program (program code 1154), allowing you to build on your skills and pursue a more advanced credential.

Admission Requirements: Direct entry requires an Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD), or equivalent, or applicant age 19 or older under mature-student status, Grade 11 compulsory English at C or U or equivalent (or Conestoga Comm Foundations COMM1545), and Grade 11 Mathematics at C, M(U/C) or U, or equivalent, or Preparatory Mathematics for Trades MATH1420. Admission is based on a computed academic-strength score with a minimum of 60% considered, built from required-subject averages plus bonus marks for Advanced-level, OAC, U, U/C or post-secondary courses. Applicants whose transcripts were not issued in English must demonstrate proficiency; the programme page defers to Conestoga's institution-wide scale of IELTS Academic overall 6.0 (no band under 5.5), TOEFL iBT 80 (no skill under 20), PTE Academic 53, CAEL 70 (writing at least 60), or Duolingo English Test 110. Canadian citizens and permanent residents with non-Canadian transcripts require a course-by-course credential evaluation through ICAS or WES.

Application Deadline:Domestic applicants apply through ontariocolleges.ca (college code CONS): for the Fall 2027 intake the online application opens 26 September 2026, the equal consideration date is 1 February 2027, offers may be issued from 1 November 2026, and accepted offers must be confirmed by 1 May 2027; most oversubscribed programs stop accepting applications after 1 February 2027, though many programs remain open afterward. Conestoga does not publish a separate equal-consideration date for its January intake. International applicants apply directly to Conestoga and are assessed on a rolling, first-come, first-served basis until each program fills; no fixed international closing date is published. These are institution-wide dates; this programme publishes no deadline of its own.
