Overview
Do you want to get into the trades but don’t know where to start? Start building your foundation with Conestoga’s one-year Construction Techniques certificate program. With a focus on safety, you will learn key concepts, and develop hands-on skills at Conestoga’s dedicated Skilled Trades Campus. This unique program consists of seven-week blocks for four different trades: masonry, plumbing, electrical, and carpentry. Your faculty are all experienced tradespeople and want to show you why you should consider a career in their trade. This program will give you the opportunity to strengthen your math and employment skills, so you can learn what you love and be ready to pursue a rewarding career, or chose to learn more in other trade-related programs. The choice is yours!
Requirements
Admission Requirements: Direct entry requires an Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or equivalent, or mature-student status for applicants 19 or older; Grade 12 compulsory English at the mature level, or equivalent, or Conestoga's Preparatory Communications (COMM1545); and Grade 11 Mathematics at the mature level, or equivalent, or Conestoga's Preparatory Mathematics (MATH1691). The English-language requirement is Conestoga's institution-wide standard for diploma and certificate programs, applied where transcripts are not in English: IELTS Academic overall band 6.0 with no band below 5.5, TOEFL iBT 80 with no skill below 20, PTE Academic 53, CAEL 70 overall with Writing 60 and no sub-test below 30, or Duolingo 110. Canadian applicants with foreign transcripts require a course-by-course credential evaluation through a service such as ICAS or WES.

Conestoga does not publish a separate equal-consideration date for its January intake. International applicants apply directly to Conestoga and are assessed on a rolling, first-come, first-served basis until each program fills; no fixed international closing date is published. These are institution-wide dates; this programme publishes no deadline of its own.
