PGCert in Enhanced Practice for Internationally Educated Nurses

Enhanced Practice for Internationally Educated Nurses is a two-year Ontario College Graduate Certificate for experienced internationally educated nurses who hold a four-year bachelor's degree in nursing. The program builds the nursing knowledge and clinical skills needed for Canadian healthcare practice, with an emphasis on caring for seniors across the continuum of care in hospital, long-term-care and community settings. Students train in nursing labs and immersive simulation suites and complete over 400 placement hours of clinical experience under supervision. The curriculum includes Conestoga's Transition to Nursing Practice course, approved by the College of Nurses of Ontario, to support registration and practice readiness in the Canadian nursing system, alongside coursework on professional practice standards, Canadian healthcare structures, and the scope-of-practice expectations nurses encounter when transitioning into the Ontario healthcare workforce.
