PGCert in Food Safety and Quality Assurance - Food Processing

Food Safety and Quality Assurance - Food Processing is a two-term Ontario College Graduate Certificate for students who already hold a degree or advanced diploma in science, food or engineering. The program builds on prior education with a suite of courses applied directly to the food processing environment, enhancing skills and knowledge for direct applicability to food safety and quality assurance work. Students apply their learning in Conestoga's pilot plant facility, connecting theoretical knowledge of quality assurance and food safety to the practical environment of food manufacturing. Graduates gain practical experience in industrial food safety applications, an understanding of Canadian and international food safety regulations and HACCP principles, project management skills, and knowledge of the interdependence between cleaning, sanitation, food safety and quality control practices typical of the food processing sector.
