Program details
Overview
This certificate in cyber incident management and response at Polytechnique Montréal trains professionals to respond effectively to advanced security incidents. Coursework covers a broad range of offensive and defensive security skills, including common attack techniques, vectors, and tools, alongside advanced defense and response strategies for minimizing the impact of cyberattacks in complex environments. The program builds key competencies for leading the remediation of a cyber incident and managing a cybersecurity operation during a crisis. The certificate totals 30 credits, exclusive to Quebec and Canada, delivered part-time in the evening, fully online. It can be combined with two other eligible certificates toward a cumulative bachelor's degree in cybersecurity. It is intended for IT professionals who already have foundational knowledge or training in operational cybersecurity and who are moving toward incident response, crisis management, or cybersecurity coordination roles, leading to positions such as incident response specialist, cyberdefense specialist, and security architect.
