This 30-credit undergraduate certificate provides foundational information technology training applied to defensive cybersecurity, covering network and web security, application security, and vulnerability management. Students acquire base skills in programming, database management, web design, and networking before specializing in defensive cybersecurity practices, working collaboratively to solve security problems and developing awareness of the industry's socioeconomic and ethical challenges. Written and oral communication skills are also developed. The programme is designed for individuals with no prior computing background as well as working professionals seeking to update their skills or reorient their careers. Full-time and part-time study options are available, and completed courses can be credited toward UQAC's bachelor's degree. It is delivered in person and admits students for the Fall and Winter terms, with places open to international students.
