Overview

This graduate diploma (DESS) in ergonomics at Polytechnique Montréal is aimed at engineers and specialists in health sciences, industrial design, cognitive science, management, or industrial relations who want to pursue graduate study while remaining in the workforce. Admission Requirements: To be admitted to a DESS program, applicants must hold a bachelor's degree in engineering or a relevant discipline, or a university degree of a scientific nature deemed relevant by Polytechnique Montréal, and must have a minimum cumulative average of 2.5/4.0 (or 2.7/4.3, or the recognized equivalent); candidates who do not meet this average may request a waiver by presenting a file demonstrating their aptitude for DESS-level study (relevant professional experience, further studies since the university degree, etc.). Applicants must also have a designated academic advisor. The program is aimed at engineers and specialists in health sciences, industrial design, cognitive science, management, or industrial relations. Meeting these general conditions does not guarantee admission, since the application must also meet any particular conditions set by the program. Applicants whose prior schooling was not in a system Polytechnique recognizes as francophone must present the result of a French-language test accepted by Polytechnique Montréal, subject to certain exemptions.
