This Graduate Diploma (DESS) in Industrial Engineering is designed for holders of an undergraduate degree in engineering, science or business administration who want to acquire advanced knowledge and skills in logistics, ergonomics, production systems, technology and innovation management, management of technological change, and technology project management. The 30-credit programme comprises up to 6 credits of 4000-level (senior undergraduate) courses, 24 to 30 credits of graduate-level coursework, and up to 3 credits allocated to a project; at least 15 credits must be chosen from the programme's specialization course list. On completion, graduates receive the Diplome d'etudes superieures specialisees (DESS) from Ecole Polytechnique de Montreal, with applications accepted for the fall, winter, or summer intake. Coursework covers methods used in manufacturing, service and public-sector organizations alike.

Admission Requirements: Admission requires a bachelor's degree in engineering or another discipline relevant to the programme, or a university degree of a scientific nature together with training that Polytechnique Montreal considers relevant. Candidates must also have a minimum cumulative average of 2.5 out of 4.0 (or 2.7 out of 4.3, or the recognized equivalent); applicants who do not meet this average may request an exception by presenting a file demonstrating aptitude for graduate study, such as relevant professional experience or further study completed since their university degree. Admitted students must also have a designated director of studies (directeur d'etudes). Meeting these general requirements does not guarantee admission, since each application is also assessed against the specific conditions of the individual programme.
