Overview
The Practical Nursing program has strong links within Peterborough and the surrounding community and across the province with health care facilities and organizations, ensuring students have excellent clinical opportunities to explore various aspects of nursing. Requirements
Admission Requirements: Requires an Ontario Secondary School Diploma, with the majority of credits at College (C) or Open (O) level, including Grade 12 College (C) English, Grade 12 College (C) Mathematics, and two different Grade 11 or 12 College (C) science courses (Chemistry, Biology or Physics), each at a minimum final grade of 65%; Grade 11 College (C) Biology is recommended but not required. Before clinical placement, students must clear a criminal reference check, a TB test and mask-fit testing, and hold current First Aid and CPR-C certification. The programme page sets no language requirement of its own, so Fleming's institution-wide English proficiency standard for diploma and certificate programmes applies: IELTS Academic 6.0 overall with no band below 5.5, TOEFL iBT 80, Duolingo English Test 105, or PTE Academic 46, or completion of Level 8 of Fleming's own English Language Bridge programme.
