Overview
A highlight of this week is Student Nurses Day on Wednesday, May 13. It’s a moment during National Nursing Week to recognize the vital contributions our learners make long before they graduate with a Fleming College Practical Nursing diploma. Through immersive experiential learning and clinical placements, Fleming’s Practical Nursing students are already in the field, providing essential support to hospitals and healthcare teams. Our students show how nursing in Ontario thrives when education and practice align.
Requirements
Admission Requirements: Requires an Ontario Secondary School Diploma including Grade 12 College (C) English, Grade 12 College (C) Mathematics, and two different Grade 11 or 12 College (C) science courses (from Chemistry, Biology or Physics), each at a minimum final grade of 65%; Grade 11 College (C) Biology is recommended but not required. Applicants aged 19 or older without an OSSD may write the Skillsmarker assessment. Before clinical placement, students must clear a criminal reference check and hold current First Aid and CPR-C certification, plus the college's other published Non-Academic Field Requirements. The programme page sets no language requirement of its own, so Fleming's institution-wide English proficiency standard for diploma and certificate programmes applies: IELTS Academic 6.0 overall with no band below 5.5, TOEFL iBT 80, Duolingo English Test 105, or PTE Academic 46, or completion of Level 8 of Fleming's own English Language Bridge programme.
