Overview

This 90-credit doctoral programme advances research in telecommunications through work within research teams active in wireless communications, optical and hybrid communications, and sensory communications, covering areas from optical-signal processing through to speech recognition and multimedia technologies. The 90 credits comprise three optional courses (nine credits), two required examinations (ten credits), and a 71-credit doctoral thesis. The programme leads to the degree of Philosophiae doctor (Ph.D.) and is offered on a full-time basis, with admission possible in the fall, winter, or summer term. Before admission, a candidate must hold prior training aligned with the programme's requirements, demonstrate a research orientation matching the objectives of the host research programmes, comply with INRS's language policy, and secure the agreement of a research director.

Minimum GPA: 3.20 / 4.3
Admission Requirements: Applicants must hold a master's degree or the equivalent in telecommunications, electrical engineering, computer science, or another relevant field, with a minimum cumulative average of 3.2 on 4.3 (or the equivalent) and prior training aligned with the programme's requirements. Candidates must comply with INRS's language policy, demonstrate a research orientation consistent with the objectives of the host research programmes, and obtain the agreement of a research director.
