Overview

The Master's in Experimental Health Sciences is a 45-credit, thesis-based graduate program at INRS in which students carry out original research into the health consequences of environmental toxicants or pharmacological agents. The program combines six mandatory research-methods activities worth 12 credits with a 33-credit research thesis, and is offered on a full-time basis only, over two years. Three specializations are available: environmental pharmacology and toxicology, bioinformatics, and infectiology. Admission cycles run in the fall, winter and summer terms. Coursework and research supervision are conducted in French, and applicants also need sufficient knowledge of written English for this program. Graduates gain advanced laboratory and analytical research skills applicable to biomedical, pharmacological and environmental-health research careers. The credential awarded on completion is a Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Experimental Health Sciences.

Minimum GPA: 3.00 / 4.3
Admission Requirements: Applicants must hold a bachelor's degree, or equivalent, in biochemistry, biology, chemistry or microbiology, with an academic record showing a cumulative average of at least 3.0 on a 4.3 scale. Applicants must have identified a research supervisor and obtained their motivated acceptance before admission.
