Overview
Ce programme préparatoire de trois étapes consécutives, de septembre à juin, prépare à une carrière de pompier par une formation hautement réaliste en extinction d'incendies, en opérations de sauvetage et en soins d'urgence, donnée à la caserne de l'Institut 911. Les exercices sur le terrain couvrent la désincarcération, le maniement du jet extincteur, l'utilisation de lances et de tuyaux, le sauvetage nautique et les interventions d'urgence, avec une structure d'entraînement extérieure dotée d'une tour et d'équipements numériques de simulation d'incendie. La terminologie est enseignée dans les deux langues officielles; La Cité est la seule à offrir ce programme en français en Ontario.

Admission Requirements: A one-year preparatory certificate. Domestic entry — Ontario, Quebec or New Brunswick: the provincial secondary-school diploma or an equivalent, or pass the mature-applicant test if you are 19 or over. Mature applicants of 19 or over can meet part of the entry requirement through La Cité's Compétences pour réussir assessments, with minimum scores of 225 in reading comprehension and 225 in numeracy. The programme page publishes no separate international conditions, so international applicants should confirm eligibility with La Cité's international admissions team.
