Admission Requirements: Highly competitive quota programme: files are assessed from 1 February and offers go out by mid-February. When eligible applicants outnumber the seats, La Cité ranks them on school test results or secondary-school marks, with priority to Ontario residents. Priority also goes to students transferring directly from La Cité's Présciences de la santé pathway who have passed all of its courses. Working English is expected: classroom texts are in English and placements are in Ontario, so you must be able to deal with patients and the care team in English. Domestic entry — Ontario: OSSD or a Canadian equivalent, or — at 19 or over — satisfactory scores on the required skills tests (reading comprehension 250, numeracy 275, and English reading, listening, writing and speaking at 226 each). An applicant who falls short only on mathematics can still be admitted by passing La Cité's numeracy exercises or its preparatory mathematics course. La Cite's programme-availability table for international candidates, read 6 September 2026, does not list this programme, so it is not open to international applicants. International applicants: La Cité's highly competitive table records the February selection round as covering every application except those from international candidates, so confirm with the college's international admissions team before applying. Before clinical placements every student needs an up-to-date immunisation record, a clear vulnerable-sector police record check from their local police service, a properly fitted N-95 mask and a level-C standard first aid and CPR-AED certificate (16 hours, from a recognised provider such as the Red Cross or St John Ambulance) kept valid for the whole programme. Placements run days, evenings, nights and weekends, and some physical or medical restrictions can prevent a student reaching the programme's final learning outcomes.
