Overview
Interdisciplinary Studies at Lakehead University lets students combine any two disciplinary areas from sixteen options, including Anthropology, Biology, Chemistry, Criminology, English, Entrepreneurship, French, Gender and Women's Studies, General Science, Geography, History, Media/Film/Communications, Philosophy, Political Science, Psychology, and Sociology. The program develops advanced critical thinking skills, problem-solving strategies, and specialized knowledge across a chosen pairing of subjects, with concentrations available in Environment in Politics and Culture, Human Nature, Social Justice, and International Conflict and Human Rights. A concurrent education option prepares students to teach Primary-Junior grades. Credentials range from a three-year Bachelor of Arts & Science and a four-year Honours Bachelor of Arts & Science to combined Bachelor of Education degrees of five to six years, including an accelerated five-year option. The program is delivered on campus at the Orillia campus.

Admission Requirements: Ontario high school applicants need the Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) with a minimum of six Grade 12U or M courses, including English (ENG4U), and a minimum 70% overall final average. International applicants need successful graduation from an academic secondary school program with the equivalent of a minimum 70% overall final average. College transfer applicants need at least one year of full-time academic studies at an accredited community college with a minimum overall average of 70%.
