Diploma in Environmental Sciences: Land Stewardship and Conservation Major

The Environmental Sciences: Land Stewardship and Conservation Major is a two-year diploma delivered face-to-face at Lakeland College's Vermilion campus. The program teaches students to assess, renew, and restore ecosystems ranging from grasslands to forests, combining environmental science fundamentals in the first year with best management practices and stewardship techniques in the second. Coursework is field-based and covers ecosystem restoration, conservation planning, and land management practices used to protect natural habitats and wildlife populations, from small species to large game animals. Graduates are prepared for careers in land stewardship, conservation, and environmental management with government agencies, conservation organizations, and private industry.
