Diploma in Process and Power Engineering

The Process and Power Engineering diploma is a two-year, face-to-face program that trains students to safely operate and maintain boilers, turbines, and engines, working toward Alberta 4th Class and 3rd Class Power Engineering certification. Year one covers 4th class theory, 100 hours of lab work, and a 1.5-month (240-hour) practicum, followed by two ABSA provincial exams. Year two begins with a three-month (480-hour) practicum before 3rd class theory and four further ABSA exams. Graduates work in power generation, oil and gas, chemical plants, and institutional power plants, beyond the oil sector alone.
