College of the North Atlantic's Chemical Process Engineering Technology (Co-op) program is a three-year diploma delivered on campus at the Ridge Road campus, preparing technologists to monitor, operate, and maintain process equipment used across industries such as oil and gas. Students learn the principles of process control, instrumentation, and plant operations, combining classroom theory with hands-on laboratory and simulation training. The co-operative education format builds in supervised work terms that give students practical experience in industrial process environments alongside their academic studies. Coursework equips graduates with the knowledge and practical skills needed to begin work as competent process operators, covering process safety, equipment operation, and troubleshooting. Graduates are prepared for entry-level roles as process technologists and operators with oil and gas, manufacturing, and other process-industry employers in Newfoundland and Labrador and beyond.
