The Criminal Justice - Policing diploma at Lethbridge Polytechnic prepares students for careers in law enforcement. Across four terms totalling 69 credits, the curriculum covers the structure of the criminal justice system, law, report writing, interviewing and investigative techniques, alongside development of teamwork, ethical accountability and communication skills. The second year builds competencies in conflict resolution and emotional intelligence relevant to policing work. Admission requires applicants to meet general entry requirements plus a medical assessment confirming fitness for strenuous physical activity, along with eyesight and colour-vision testing. Graduates may ladder into further study, including a Bachelor of Criminal Justice, or transfer-credit arrangements with partner universities such as Royal Roads University and Griffith University, each with its own minimum-average requirement. Completion of the diploma prepares graduates for entry-level roles in municipal, provincial and federal policing and related public-safety agencies.
