Environmental Studies is a two-year interdisciplinary diploma offered by Langara College's Department of Interdisciplinary Studies, addressing the causes and consequences of human impact on the world's ecosystems. The program draws on four core study areas - biology, chemistry, English, and geography - alongside a number of dedicated environmental courses, with electives chosen to suit each student's interests. Coursework builds the awareness, knowledge, and skills needed to address environmental protection and remediation issues, and the program concludes with a one-week field school at the end of the second year. It leads to a Diploma in Arts and Science (Environmental Studies) credential; an Associate of Arts Degree with a concentration in Environmental Studies is also available. The program is delivered full-time and in-person, with intakes in September, January, and May.
