Overview
The Diploma in Arts and Science (Peace & Conflict Studies) at Langara College is a two-year, full-time, in-person undergraduate program examining the dynamics of violence and peace from the interpersonal to the international level. Coursework covers the structural causes of war and violence and surveys initiatives that address both institutionalized and interpersonal violence. The program also engages with Canada's colonial history and reconciliation processes as examples of peace-building. It is designed for students seeking an interdisciplinary foundation in conflict analysis and peace studies before transferring into a related bachelor's degree, rather than as a stand-alone terminal credential. Intakes are offered in September, January, and May. Admission to the program does not guarantee registration in required courses, and some students may need additional English coursework to meet course prerequisites.
