Overview

The Biotechnology program at Loyalist College is preparing me for my chosen career field by providing extensive hands-on training in advanced lab techniques and cutting-edge technologies. Requirements

Admission Requirements: Admission requires an OSSD/OSSGD or equivalent with courses at the general, advanced, (C), (U) or (M) level, including Grade 12 English at the (C) level or equivalent, or mature-student status; Grade 12 Mathematics, Chemistry and Physics and Grade 11 or 12 Biology at the (C), (U) or general level are recommended, and applicants with related credentials may receive advanced standing directly into year two. The page sets no language-test scores itself, so Loyalist's institution-wide diploma requirement applies to international applicants: IELTS Academic 6.0 overall with no band below 6.0, TOEFL 550 paper-based or 80 iBT (no section below 20), CAEL 60 overall/60 writing, Duolingo 105+ (no band below 90), Cambridge C1 Advanced/C2 Proficiency, or Oxford ELLT 6. No criminal-record check, interview or work-experience requirement is stated; Career and College Prep is available for academic upgrading.

Application Deadline: Domestic applicants apply through ontariocolleges.ca: for programmes starting September 2027 the application opens 26 September 2026 (Loyalist's own page describes this loosely as "early October"), the equal-consideration date is 1 February 2027 - particularly important for competitive programmes - and later applications are assessed first-come, first-served while seats remain; offers must be accepted by 1 May 2027 with a tuition deposit due in June 2027. International applicants apply directly through Loyalist's International Application Service or an agent and are assessed on a rolling, individual basis; the college publishes no fixed international closing date, and each Letter of Acceptance states its own accept-and-pay deadline. These are institution-wide dates; this programme publishes no deadline of its own.
