Overview

The Bay of Quinte region has a chronic shortage of registered nurses. The demand for nurses is anticipated to grow and accelerate over the next few decades. This pattern is projected throughout Ontario and across Canada as the demand for registered nurses increases in proportion to the country’s aging and growing population. Graduates of the Honours Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree program will find their skills are in demand throughout the health care sector.

Requirements

Minimum GPA: 75.00 / %

Admission Requirements: Highly competitive program; meeting the minimum requirements does not guarantee admission. Requires Grade 12 English (ENG4U or equivalent), Grade 12 Mathematics (MDM4Y, MCB4U, MCV4U or MHF4U), Grade 12 Chemistry (SCH4U or equivalent), and Grade 12 Biology (SBI4U or equivalent), each at a minimum of 75%, plus two university-admission electives at a minimum of 60% each; all six courses must average at least 75% overall. Requires current immunizations, valid Standard First Aid/CPR HCP certification, a clear Criminal Record and Vulnerable Sector Check, and an N95 mask fit test.

Application Deadline: Domestic applicants apply through ontariocolleges.ca: for programmes starting September 2027 the application opens 26 September 2026 (Loyalist's own page describes this loosely as "early October"), the equal-consideration date is 1 February 2027 - particularly important for competitive programmes - and later applications are assessed first-come, first-served while seats remain; offers must be accepted by 1 May 2027 with a tuition deposit due in June 2027. International applicants apply directly through Loyalist's International Application Service or an agent and are assessed on a rolling, individual basis; the college publishes no fixed international closing date, and each Letter of Acceptance states its own accept-and-pay deadline. These are institution-wide dates; this programme publishes no deadline of its own.
