This is a second-entry Bachelor of Health Sciences (Physician Assistant) program that prepares graduates to practise medicine under physician supervision. Admission is not available directly from secondary school: applicants must complete at least two years of full-time post-secondary study (20 half-courses or 10 full courses) at an accredited university, with the entering class averaging a 3.75 GPA; the degree can be in any discipline and no specific prerequisite courses are required, though courses using small-group, self-directed or inquiry-based learning are considered good preparation. Applicants whose first language is not English must meet McMaster's proficiency requirement (IELTS Academic 6.5 overall with no band below 6.0, or TOEFL iBT 86 with a minimum of 20 per component for tests before 21 January 2026). No MCAT, GRE, PA-CAT, CASPer, or references are required; applicants who meet the GPA threshold are invited to complete a supplemental application through Kira Talent, and roughly 120 of 1,200+ applicants are then invited to interview.
