The MASc in Biomedical Engineering is a research-based graduate program created jointly by McMaster's Faculties of Engineering and Health Sciences. It provides a collaborative environment linking the university's expertise in medical sciences and engineering, with research spanning molecular, medical and bioengineering areas. Admission normally requires an Honours Bachelor's degree, or equivalent, in engineering or a physical science field. The program is completed on a full-time basis with a nominal length of two years, combining graduate coursework with original supervised research leading to a thesis. Admission is offered for the September, January and May terms. An accelerated one-year MASc option is also available to eligible current McMaster undergraduates who meet separate academic criteria. The program is administered through McMaster's School of Biomedical Engineering, drawing on faculty and facilities across engineering and health sciences.
