Overview

The Pre-Employment Plumbing Certificate is designed to make students more marketable when seeking employment in the plumbing trade. The program covers entry-level plumbing skills equivalent to first-year apprenticeship training, with additional hours of hands-on practice and safety training beyond the standard curriculum. Recommended prerequisites are English 20-2, Math 20-3, Science 10, and a passing grade on all five GED tests or equivalents; applicants who do not meet these may still qualify by completing an Apprenticeship Entrance Exam for the trade. The program runs for 360 hours and is delivered on the Medicine Hat campus. Successful completion results in a Medicine Hat College Certificate of Completion, giving graduates a documented entry point into the plumbing trade ahead of formal apprenticeship indenture.
