This unique delivery of the radiography advanced diploma combines online courses and on-campus skills intensives to provide you with the knowledge, practical skills and judgment to provide patient focused care Program Highlights This Ontario College Advanced Diploma program prepares graduates with the knowledge, practical skills and judgement required to carry out general diagnostic radiography examinations and procedures. In the role of radiographer, also known as an X-Ray technologist, graduates will be working independently and in collaboration with health care team members, to acquire radiographic images to assist radiologists in the diagnosis and management of multiple system disorders.The program is designed to provide online didactic content, hands-on practical and simulated training at the Institute for Applied Health Sciences (IAHS) and clinical placement experience. On graduation of the program students are eligible to challenge the CAMRT (Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists) exam to obtain medical radiation technologist (MRT) status. Registered technologists are eligible to work throughout Canada. Admission Requirements: Mohawk lists Radiography as a late-release program with an equal consideration date of 1 February for the September start; it is delivered as a mix of online coursework and in-person practical and clinical work.
ACADEMIC ENTRY: an OSSD or its equivalent (Mohawk Academic Upgrading or GED) including Grade 12 English at the C or U level or equivalent; a Grade 12 maths credit, either MCT4C (Mathematics for College Technology) or any U-level Grade 12 maths; and Grade 11 or 12 biology, chemistry and physics, each at the C or U level or equivalent. The averaged mark across all five of those required courses must be at least 80 per cent - this is a stated threshold, not a guideline. Mohawk also publishes a mature-applicant route for people without the school credits.
ENGLISH, where it is not your first language: IELTS Academic 6.5 with no band under 6.0; or TOEFL iBT 83; or CAEL 60 with no sub-test under 50; or CLB 8 with no band under 8; or PTE 58 with no band under 51; or completion of Mohawk’s General Arts and Science - English for Academic Purposes program (478 or 278).
