This apprenticeship programme delivers the in-class training component of the Truck and Coach Technician trade at Mohawk College's Stoney Creek Campus for Skilled Trades, leading to a Mohawk College Certificate eligible for Ontario College Certificate recognition. It follows an earn-while-you-learn model combining employer-based on-the-job training with in-school instruction led by licensed journeypersons. Coursework covers the repair, testing and maintenance of trucks, tractors, and city and highway buses. The apprenticeship totals 6,720 hours: 6,000 hours of on-the-job work experience with a sponsoring employer and 720 hours of in-school training at Mohawk College. Training offers are issued by the Ontario Ministry of Labour, Immigration, Training and Skills Development and registered through Skilled Trades Ontario, with multiple intakes at the Stoney Creek Campus. Graduates work as licensed technicians servicing heavy commercial vehicles.
Requirements
