Admission Requirements: This certificate is open to domestic applicants only. Academic entry requires a C in English 12 or equivalent, or a successful English assessment. Applicants must also submit a signed Requisite Skills and Abilities document setting out the practice demands of the field, and eligible Indigenous students may apply through a Priority Admission process on a first-applied, first-qualified basis alongside the general requirements. Before classes begin, students must complete a Solicitor General Consent for Criminal Record Search (at their own cost), hold a current Child Care First Aid certificate (or take the NIC course in month one), and submit a portfolio comprising a Personal Immunization form validated by a healthcare professional, two character-reference letters, and a current resume; part-time students submit the portfolio before their practicum instead of on day one. The program runs a Fall intake, one year full-time (or up to three years part-time online).
