Admission Requirements: Domestic applicants only. Admission requires C+ in English 12 or an equivalent course, or a successful English placement assessment. Applicants must also submit a signed Human Services Requisite Skills and Abilities document and a 300-word Letter of Intent describing their motivation for the program and career goals. North Island College reserves priority admission seats for Indigenous applicants, who are considered alongside other applicants on a first-applied, first-qualified basis. Before classes begin, admitted students must attend a mandatory information session, hold a current Standard First Aid certificate with CPR Level C valid through the program, submit a Criminal Record Check, and complete a Personal Immunization form validated by a public health nurse; students placed in high-risk health-authority settings must also complete an additional 8-hour Provincial Violence Prevention Curriculum module.
