Meeting the minimum does not guarantee admission, as seats are limited. Graduates of NAIT's Power Engineering 4th Class certificate (2026 or later, minimum graduation GPA 2.0) may enter directly into Year 2 via the Spring term, subject to availability. Once enrolled, students need good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity; some employers additionally require full colour vision, a medical exam, a Class 5 driver's licence, or a clean criminal record check.

Admission is effectively rolling, and NAIT advises applying as early as possible since program status can change quickly with demand.
