Alternative Energy Technology is a two-year diploma preparing students to design, integrate and maintain systems powered by renewable energy sources. Students gain hands-on experience with solar, geothermal, wind, biofuel, hydro, fuel cell and co-generation energy systems using industry-standard laboratory equipment. Coursework also covers project management, economics, business and energy management as they apply to the energy sector, broadening students' perspective on the wider energy industry beyond hands-on system work. Graduates are prepared for roles with renewable energy companies, utility providers, environmental consulting firms, engineering firms and government agencies. The Diploma credential typically takes two years of full-time study to complete. As of the 2026/27 academic year, the program is paused and not accepting new applications.
