Overview

Health Care Management is a one-year Ontario College Graduate Certificate delivered over two semesters at Northern College's Haileybury campus. The program provides an overview of healthcare management and delivery systems, covering ethics, patient safety, patient rights, anatomy and medical terminology, and healthcare information technology. Students develop skills in operations, human resources, and quality management as applied to hospitals, long-term care, and community health settings. The program concludes with a capstone project focused on healthcare leadership, in which students apply management concepts to a real-world healthcare challenge. Graduates are prepared for supervisory and coordination roles across healthcare environments. The program builds on a prior credential in a healthcare-related field and is delivered on-campus.

Requirements

Admission Requirements: Domestic applicants need an Ontario College Diploma, Ontario College Advanced Diploma, degree, or equivalent in a healthcare-related field of study. International applicants need a Bachelor of Science degree in a related field such as medicine, nursing, pharmacy, or dentistry, and must meet Northern College's English-proficiency standard: IELTS Academic 6.5 overall with no band below 6.0, TOEFL iBT 88, or PTE Academic 60.
