Expanded Media is a four-year Bachelor of Fine Arts program at NSCAD University's Academy Campus for students interested in film, photography, digital environments, and performance. The curriculum covers electronics, sound design, robotics, video art, installation, photography, live performance, and cinema, combining technical training with experimentation across media. Students have access to dedicated facilities including a 3,000-square-foot soundstage, editing bays, an animation lab, recording studios, and an electronics lab. The program begins with a shared Foundation year before students specialize in expanded media practices, working across disciplines rather than a single medium. Graduates pursue careers in contemporary art, sound design, podcasting, augmented reality, video games, film post-production, and animation, and the program also prepares students for further study in media arts. Delivery is on-campus, with studio and lab-based instruction throughout.
