Overview
The Bachelor of Computer Information Systems Degree includes a broad selection of computing, mathematics, business, and communications courses so you can function in a variety of roles in the Information Technology field. You'll be able to concentrate on areas of computing (Software Design and Development, Database Systems and General Studies) which interest you, while also gaining a broad knowledge of computing. You'll also have the option to partake in a co-op program during your studies.
Requirements
Admission Requirements: Okanagan College's Bachelor of Computer Information Systems Degree admits applicants with B.C. secondary-school graduation or the equivalent, or who are 19 and out of secondary school for one year by the first day of classes. English 12 at a minimum of 60 per cent, or an approved alternative, is required. Mathematics requires 60 per cent in Pre-Calculus 12, Principles of Mathematics 12, Adult Basic Education MATH 012, or Okanagan College MATH 120; or 67 per cent in the equivalent Grade 11 courses; or 70 per cent on the college's own Mathematics Proficiency Test. No IELTS, TOEFL or similar score is published. A mandatory orientation applies, keyboarding of at least 20 words per minute is strongly recommended, and a personal computer with internet access is advised. Applicants who already hold a Computer Information Systems or ICT diploma from Okanagan College, or an equivalent, may enter directly into year three.

Application Deadline:Domestic applicants: there is no fixed closing date. For a Fall intake the College starts taking applications at 8:30 a.m. on October's first weekday of the preceding year, and for a Winter intake at 8:30 a.m. on February's first weekday of the preceding year, then keeps accepting them until the seats are gone - so apply early. Apply through EducationPlannerBC; the fee is $30 CAD. Okanagan College names this program in the group whose international application deadline is 30 June for a September start, with transcripts, proof of English, the admission deposit and any other conditions due by 15 July. For a January start the international deadline is 31 October (conditions by 15 November), and for the May or July sessions it is 28 February (conditions by 31 March). Missing a document deadline cancels the application. These dates are set college-wide for that named group, not for this program alone.
